As I was scrolling through Facebook, a RAAN contributor, Tony Stone, shared this article and I thought it might be helpful to pass it along to the RAAN family. Over at the Christian Post Stoyan Zaimov writes:
Televangelist Benny Hinn has asked supporters of his ministry for $2.5 million in donations, which he says an anonymous donor will match dollar by dollar to help him get out of debt.
“God wants your ministry to be completely out of debt, and I want to plant an anointed seed that will help you take a giant step toward becoming totally debt-free!” says the anonymous man, whom Hinn calls a “long-time and beloved” friend.
“God has laid it on my heart to plant a seed of $2.5 million into your ministry, but God only wants me to make this gift if the ministry partners match the amount within 90 days! I feel so strongly that He wants them to be part of the supernatural wealth transfer that is coming to every believer who will obey God’s Word,” the man reportedly adds.
Hinn preaches a controversial prosperity gospel teaching and has often told followers that donations would be returned back to them in the form of financial blessings.
Benny Hinn Ministries has been investigated by the IRS in the past, and was under a 2007 Senate investigation that delved into the financial dealing of a number of high-profile preachers. The ministry has denied any wrongdoing. The preacher has been criticized for using his ministry’s money to buy a private jet and luxury cars, but the exact state of his finances has been kept under wraps.
Earlier in April, Hinn led a large service in Trinidad and Tobago where the minister apparently asked the thousands in attendance to each give a $100 donation to help pay for the two-day event.

Huge amount of debts now-a-days is a common fact for every individual. People always make expenses beyond their means. As a result they fall knee deep in debt. People need to be cautious and shouldn’t make costly mistakes if they really want to get out of debt. Spend money only when there is no other choice. In the current economic scenario, every one should have an emergency fund. This is because nobody knows when they will need it. You need to make a list of all your debts from highest interest rate to lowest interest rate. Always try to manage your money wisely. Spend as per your financial means. Don’t take out a loan which you can’t afford to pay back. Plan a personal budget and stick to it in all seasons.
I’d first point out that Mr. Hinn is preaching a fal$e me$$age when it comes to prosperity, money, and his entitlement to hear from God what others need to give, (to his mini$try), in order for them to be blessed. The second thing I’d also like to speak about is his hearing from God about anything at all beyond what Scripture teaches; as he has constantly given false predictions and contradicted Scripture with what he has heard from ‘God’. Which leads me to the third thing I have to say, even though I do not like saying it, ‘Benny Hinn is NOT a Christian by any stretch of the imagination.’ If he were a believer in God by true faith in Jesus Christ, he would NOT blaspheme they way he does, falsely prophesy the way he does, conduct his circus meetings the way he does, and he would not justify being a thief by way of spiritual con-artistry and hucksterism that he uses to fleece the flock, (assuming that those he fleeces are truly sheep). He is a magic act of the ‘slight of mind’ type. I speak by constraint and use restraint, not attacking the man himself, but what he has said, written, and practiced. You will know the tree by its fruit. The evidence is in by many witnesses. Check out his fruit with the Bible, not with emotion, but as a Berean. Do not be afraid to use the judgment we are given by God in the Scriptures. When you do this, you will see him in the balance and wanting.
It’s my sincere hope that these masqueraders all go down in an epic heap. The sooner, the better.
